The Warm Homes: Local Grant (WHLG) is a £500 million Government scheme that pays for energy performance upgrades and low-carbon heating in low-income households across England – at no cost to eligible homeowners. It is delivered through local authorities, and Pyramid Eco installs WHLG-funded upgrades in partnership with councils and scheme administrators across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and the wider South East.

Who qualifies for the Warm Homes: Local Grant?

Your home needs an EPC rating of D, E, F or G and must be owner-occupied or privately rented. You then need to meet one of three criteria:

1. Your postcodeHomes in postcodes within IMD Income Deciles 1–2 qualify automatically – no income checks. Check yours here.
2. Means-tested benefitsUniversal Credit, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit and similar qualify you wherever you live.
3. Household income £36,000 or lessVerified by your local authority – we help you through the paperwork.

How it works with Pyramid Eco

  1. Eligibility check. Use the postcode checker or contact us – we confirm your route (postcode, benefits or income) and your EPC rating.
  2. Free retrofit assessment. A qualified Retrofit Assessor surveys your home and designs the right package of measures.
  3. Council approval. We handle the application and evidence with your local authority – you sign, we chase.
  4. Installation. Our TrustMark-registered teams install to PAS 2030 standards, typically over a few days per measure.
  5. Certification & guarantees. Building control, TrustMark lodgement, updated EPC and insurance-backed guarantees – all included.
